Prof. Olapeju Esimai is the incumbent Director of the Institute of Public Health where she started her tenure on 1st August 2023. She has fellowship degrees in Public Health and Masters degrees in Environmental Control & Management and Bioethics in Obafemi Awolowo University & University of Ibadan where she teaches undergraduate and postgraduate students in Reproductive Health, Epidemiology and Environmental Health.
Prof. Olapeju Esimai is actively involved in research in Reproductive Health and Environmental Health. As a consultant, she renders services to the Teaching Hospital by running the sick infant and antenatal & well woman clinic at the comprehensive health centre Eleyele ile-lfe , Osun state . I have had opportunities to work outside the university system as Consultants to agencies like WHO, USAID, UNICEF, NACA. I was involved in the development of the health sector response of the multi-sectoral plan for HIV/AIDS . I served as National Surveillance Officer in Osun State. Also served as Health Impact Assessment Advisor in Shell Petroleum Development Company. My contributions to knowledge were in the areas of Epidemiology, International and Environmental Health and Reproductive Health. I have also been opportune to travel within the country on national assignments and outside the country for Case Management and facilitator trainee in Integrated Management of Childhood Illness and ecological approach to infectious disease. I was opportune to be awarded a graduate diploma degree in Early Childhood Development by the Virtual University of Victoria , Canada.
